	****	FORMAT: ***********

Line-oriented -- each line ends with a carriage-return & line-feed (SOS
	is fine, of course).
Do not justify (i.e., do not add spaces).
Leave two spaces after sentence terminators (i.e., ".", "?", "!")(unless at
the end of a line -- then just end the line).
Do not hyphenate words at the end of a line (i.e., use hyphens
only for words that want them, e.g., "on-line", not for breaking
words at the end of a line).
Single space the text.
Leave a blank line between paragraphs.
Do not indent the first line of paragraphs.
Use upper and lower case.

Footnotes:
At point of reference to the footnote, have two dollar signs, followed
by the body of the note (which may span more than one line), terminated
with an asterisk. e.g.:
It has been shown$$See Benson and Hedges (1902) for a complete
description of the von Worm phenomenon.* that all is perfect...

Boldface (or italics, if you prefer):
Immediately precede with "[b-" (or "[B-") and terminate with "]". e.g.:
... in his book, [b-The Ramifications of Computing with
	Jelly-Beans], Frescabaldi shows ...

Underlining:
Same as boldface, except use "[u-".

Comment to the editor (yes, there is a human in this process):
same as for boldface, except use "[c-".

For controlling justification, etc., a number of commands may be used.
Each appears on a line of its own -- the first character of the line
is a period ("."). Each command is "sticky" until superceded by another.
(The commands may be typed in upper or lower case, or even mixed).

command meaning
--------	------------------------------------
.TEXTIT running text -- justified (default).
.NOTOUCHIT	leave each line as is (about 60 chars will fit per line).
.CENTERIT	center each line.
.INDENTIT	like TEXTIT, but the text will be set off by indentation.
